    Early 327 intake manifold

I have an early 327/300 intake manifold: casting#3799349, casting date J 6 1 and there is another set of numbers that appears to be a date: 2-2-61. Does anyone know what that set of numbers indicates? There is one just like it pictured in Colvin's Chevrolet by the Numbers. By the way, this intake is for sale. Any opinions of what its worth in excellent condition? Thanks

I've seen hudreds of those manifolds over the past 40 yeas. Every one has had the 2-2-61 on it. Don't exactlly kow why!

      Mike and Richard-------

Although I've never seen this kind of thing before, my guess would be that 2-2-61 was the date that pattern "GM1" for this casting number was created. That may have been the only pattern ever created for this particular manifold.

I don't really know but I don't think it would be particularly valuable. I'd check eBay COMPLETED listings for manifolds of this casting number and see what they sold for. That will be about as good of a guide as you're going to find.
