    Opinions on custom plates

I have tried twice to get custom historic plates in nj and have been shot down twice because all numbers is not allowed, also because only six spaces are allowed and 4 letters and 2 numbers are not allowed. i have tried L71, 427 435, 435 hp, 427 3x2. any suggestions for something unique for these plates all opinions welcome.
    thanx

Hi Robert. I too had some fun finding a personalized plate for "Historic" in NJ. You can add to the three allotted selections on a separate piece of paper sent with application so that you don't have to wait to be disappointed. Make a good 20-30 and something should stick. You may have to waver from what you would REALLY like as most of the good ones have already been taken.

My feeling on "personalized" license plates:

It is NEVER to one's advantage that their license plate is easy for someone to remember.

It MAY BE to one's advantage that their license plate is not easy to remember.

Does this online system allow you to test what is available? http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Vehicle/p...zed_plates.htm

In New Hampshire, I just log into their data base and keep typing till I get a hit I like, Then I go to DMV and order it.

I don't think so Harry. It's a whole other segment that the historical plates are derived. We start with the "stacked Qs and then deal with several restrictions that make for a difficult time finding something cool.

Interesting, I grew up in Paramus when life was simple and getting answers was just as simple. Sometimes I'm happy I left there.
