      It MAY be 1 of 2 Corvettes reported at Daytona Beach in February 1955 (I have no access to a report using #s in the report); if so, that would make it either EmoryThames (103.528 2-way avg) or Blakely D. Ellis (100.770 2-wy avg). This is while T-Birds were knocking down 121 mph 2-way averages on the same sand. Perhaps the birthing place for "Ed Cole's Revenge" in 1956......

          Hello Joe,
          When looking the photo I see a 1956 Chevrolet parked in the background.
          The may help with a time frame when the photo was taken.

              That photo looks like it's straight out of the pages of one of the car magazines back in the day. Looks like a 55 with the little V in the side script.
