Core Support for 66 Vette

I am a little confused about the correct color of black for the core support for a 1966 small block, the judging guide on page 154 says the inner fender skirts are flat black finish. But on page 162 it says the core support should be semi gloss black matching the inner fender skirts, so should the inner fender skirts and core support be semi or flat black? And what about the firewall and underside of the hood? Thanks for your help

Greg, I think the support was semi gloss, and during the blackout operation of the inner fenders the black out covered some of the core support. I have heard this before here on the TDB that the color varied from flat to semi gloss. Take it for what its worth. I sure if the black out your inner fenders are close to the radiator support you should be okay.

One variable is whether the car was a AO Smith or St Louis car. AO Smith core supports were zinc chromate with much of it covered during the blackout process.
