1956E Dipstick and Tube

I am looking for info on the early 56 dipstick and tube. I found a post that said the tube was 14.5 inches overall length. I am not sure how far into the oil pan fitting the tube goes, maybe someone can tell me how much is sticking out of the tube. Is it straight coming out, are there any brackets holding it in place. Next is the dipstick, i have found the dimensions for both A and B and distance to tip, how long is it from the washer to top of handle. Is it a one piece or riveted two piece. better yet if any has a picture of both tube and dipstick that would be great.

Based on my research using vintage Chevrolet parts catalogs the 1956 Corvette 1st design dipstick tube is 14 1/2" O.L. w/clamp (oil pan mtd.) and is GM # 3718206 in Gr. 1.516. The 1956 Corvette 1st design dipstick is GM # 3722960 and is described one piece and 19 13/32" long under the washer, A = 17 37/64" and B = 18 27/64".

According to my notes the 1956 Chevrolet Parts Catalog lists the 1956 Corvette dipstick as GM # 3728130 and is described as "19 9/32 under washer".

I have a note in my research that GM # 3728130 was replaced in Oct. 1956 with GM # 3722960.

I sold my 1955, 1956, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, and 1962 Chevrolet Parts Catalogs several years ago but I still have my 1957 catalog as well as all my 1963 and newer catalogs.

The oldest dipstick that I have in my collection is from a 1958 Chevrolet w/283, GM # 3747979, one piece, A = 18 35/64" and B = 19 5/16".
