    on to the next issue

    sour 68 327/350 enging has been running poorly lately,I took off the LH roker and looked over and found a broken keeper washer on top of #5 ex valve. Removed rocker and spring.. bottom coil on spring broken also, inspected push rod.found the nice round tip missing and flattened....
    any causes and suggestions.

    Francis, surely sounds like the lack of oil up the tube of push rod. this is what happens with out lubrication. replace all the parts and make sure there is oil coming up the push rod and also note that the push rod should be slightly rotating while idling. And make sure the valve has good up and down motion like the others.
