The surprises never stop during a restoration. I've began cleaning up the wiper motor and 5 port washer I thought was original to the car I bought it in 1972. The surprise came when I checked the part # and Julian date on the wiper motor label and part # wasn't 5044758 but 4919437. the number below it is 43 21A which doesn't appear to be in correct Julian date format. I know I can obtain a correct label but I'd appreciate any information on what wiper motor I have. As always, many thanks...Clark

GM #4919437 was the SERVICE part number for the wiper motor applicable to 1969-72 Corvettes. GM #5044758 was the PRODUCTION part number for the motor assembly. What's the difference? The SERVICE motor assembly is supplied without washer pump; the PRODUCTION assembly is supplied with washer pump. Apparently, the wiper motor on your car was replaced at some point and the washer pump either transferred from the replaced motor or a new washer pump installed. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
