    396 TI Harness

I just had the TI system restored for my car. The harness was routed through the opening between the hood hinge and the bracket. I do not believe this is correct because the opening looks too narrow and possibly pinch the harness. I do not have an Assembly Manual for the 65. Does anyone know how the harness is routed as it approaches the hood hinge? Thanks

      Mike,

It is routed along the right side inner fender below the radiator to expansion tank hose and is routed to the inside of the right side hood hinge. It is positioned in the notch at the top corner of the radiator support and the inner fender where it drapes over the radiator support down to the TI box. It will not get pinched between the hood, hood hinge or the radiator support. I would advise you to invest the money on a '65 AIM, it will show you a lot. Sorry I do not have a good picture to show at this time.

      Regards,

      James West

The harness was actually running through the opening between the hood support and the hood support bracket at the front of the car. I was incorrect in calling it the hood hinge. James, your response makes sense. I am missing a couple of harness clips. By installing the clips the harness will run its proper route. Someone back in the day probably ran it through the hood support bracket because the clip was missing. Thanks guys.
