    T3 and bulb cup issue

This newbie needs some help! My new to me 66 coupe is needing some headlight attention. While I was replacing the T3s I determined the driver side bulbs do not seem to line up in the notches. The right side is fine with the orientation correct whereas the left or drivers side is off 90 degrees for both the high and low beam with the T3 triangle laying on its side. I think my bulb cups are incorrect. Can anybody confirm or advise and point me in the right direction. Much obliged.

The T3 triangle is not supposed to lay on it's side? It stands on it's point. Does that correct the orientation for you?
welcome to the NCRS tech board newbie. Where have you been?

Yeah, I figured that. My question is why do the "studs" on the bulb when positioned in the notches on the receiver, or bulb cap as I believe it is referred to, result in the T3 triangle laying on its side at 3 o'clock instead of 12 o'clock. I think the bulb caps are incorrect and perhaps I need to find the correct ones for the drivers side. I've read somewhere that the bulb caps where different part numbers for each position i.e. left low beam, left high, right low and right high. If so where is a good source to get the correct parts?

        Jim
this thread from the other day should have all the info you need to get your bulb retainers straightened out.

I think most C2 people find that LICS sells parts that most resemble OEM configuration.

Thanks Don, that helps. I even figured out LIC is Long Island Corvette. I'll give them a call.

            James,
I sent about a dozen or so to get plated and when I put my 67 retainers on it took a long time to get the right ones in the right place as I had so many to choose from.

Dom - was going to respond similar that maybe someone in the past put the retainers in the wrong position

Possibly just installed the buckets one position off. There are three screws holding the buckets in place. Try removing the buckets and rotating them counterclockwise and see if that doesn't rectify your issue...worth a try.
