    C2 - 327 Actuator Return Spring

Gentlemen, I recently discovered the actuator return spring on my fuel pump (4657) had broken into three pieces. The spring is easy to replace, but finding one is the issue. Would anyone know how to obtain a replacement spring or who repairs the pumps. Thanks, WK

    William,
A spring should be easy to find. I chased what I thought was a weak lifter and even changed all 16, only to find that it was the fuel pump spring. Good luck and nice find.

You should be able to find a suitable one at the hardware store but you probably need to know the original length. They are 400. diameter, 1-3/4 long with wire dia of.060

Once again I Have to caution that if you find a greasy substance in the spring cavity your spring breakage is due to a coolant leak, I.e. Cracked block, head gasket, etc. Coolant will attack these springs causing them to break - I don't know why, but I broke three in a row until I found the cause. The greasy substance will also show up under oil fill caps.
