    I have a pair of (I think) GM rear outer wheel bearing seals the part is group # 5.822 , part # 14079472 . Are these correct for a 65 ? The inner's I have are Group 5.822 part # 3794002 .

        GM #14079472 is the current outer rear bearing seal applicable to 1963-82 Corvettes. It replaced original seal GM #3794006 in June, 1984 and remains available.

        The inner rear bearing seals applicable to 1963-82 Corvettes were originally GM #3794002. These were replaced by GM #12304213 which are now also discontinued.

        The seals available from GM are usually National Seals (Federal-Mogul). They are also available from CR.

        inner= National #9178S; CR #16757

        outer= National #5113; CR #19803

        By the way, the configuration of the original seals and the replacements is different. The original seals were a "sandwich" type construction with the flat rubber seal "sandwiched" between sides of the seal frame. The replacements are a lip-type seal.
