What is the correct finish on the vent levers/assembly that sits under the console? Part number 3958739. Thanks

Re: 1969 vent lever housing finish
Are you referring to the vent levers which are topped with the black plastic knobs? If so, those are natural steel finish (despite what it might say in the P&A catalogs)In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Thanks Joe, yes that is what I was referring to. Mine have a rusty patina. What's the best way to restore them? Remove the rust and clear coat?- Top

Re: 1969 vent lever housing finish
Hi Roger,
I'm missing one of the 4.
I've been looking for years but haven't found any.
Even when I see the housing and levers at places like Carlisle, the plastic trim/guides are missing.
Maybe someone here has some stashed away!

Alan and Roger------
The GUIDE is GM #3942780. It was discontinued without supercession in November, 1988. I don't know if it's reproduced, or not. These things fall out VERY EASILY if the console plate is removed. Usually, though, they will be found somewhere under the plate since they fall out so immediately they don't get far.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
