    1984 original dealership sales brochure

I don't know when or where I got this, but I have it. It's in great shape and can be yours just by sending me a PM with your mailing address. I don't have a use for it and would hate to pitch 30 year old original sales materials. Thanks.

Great! Thanks for giving it a home Ed. I think it was worth saving.

Has anyone ever seen an 84' with the stock wheels as featured on the cover of the sales brochure? This may have been like the 75' wheel situation only in reverse.

There are actually two 1984 sales brochures. The earliest one is commonly referred to as the '83 brochure where it depicts a side view with the "never available" spoke type wheels which were 15". The '84 brochure shows the same car with the 16" production 'aero' wheels. The 15" were supposed to be the standard wheel as shown and the Z51 option wheel would be the 16" aero style. At some point it must have been decided to use the same 16" aero wheel style on all cars with the Z51 getting 9 1/2" rears and 8 1/2" fronts. It had to be determined early enough in the process so that Goodyear made only 16" tires for the assembly plant. The early brochures must have been OK'd/printed well in advance. This is quite a difference from current situation where the '15 models have been sold for several months and the brochures are finally becoming available.
This discrepancy on the wheels is interesting but not actually a mistake like on the first run of 1968 brochures where the interior shot depicted a car with a window crank on the door panel and power window controls on the console! That would have been a rare build...
