    67 big block carb. identification

I have a 67' big block 390hp and have some miscellaneous carbs that I'm trying to decipher. I'm starting to think I don't have the original carb.
On the forward vertical service of the air horn I have C8AF-9510-AD, List 4088, 834. On the other carb I have List 4780, 0583. My vette was built March 9th 1967. If one of these is not original to the car does anyone know of a GOOD RESOURCE to track down an original?

Neither of those carbs were EVER originally used for a 1967 L-36 application. In fact, I don't think that either were ever used for a Chevrolet application. You need a 3811 or 3815 if equipped with K-19.

NCRS '67 judging manual/guide has the information you are looking for.

I have the judging guide. Since these numbers were not fitting the pattern I am wondering where they came from?? Does anyone know of any resources were I can track down an original.

There are usually quite a few on eBay. However, some come from "questionable" sellers and most carry a very stiff price. Unless you find someone that doesn't know what he has selling this carb, I don't think you'll find an original which is inexpensive.

By the way, I think the 4088 is a Ford carburetor. Holley carbs were used on Ford (and Mopar), too. I don't know what the 4780 is.

          Addendum

I believe the 4780 is strictly an aftermarket carb. At least, I can't find any original applications for it.

I think a 4780 is a hot rod double pumper w/manual choke about 750 cfm.
