    78 poster

My 40' x 80' garage is under construction. In 1978, I purchased a billboard poster of the new 50th anniversary Corvette. I am considering putting the billboard poster on one of my walls. My question is: what is value in the unwrapped poster today and what are the dimensions of the installed poster? Has anybody installed this poster who can give me some advise?

Perry, as noted in Jim's referenced post they are installed like wallpaper. Once up it is there for good. If you want to save it but still have a likeness on the wall go to a large printer and get a quote for a one piece on either heavy paper or vinyl. Much easier to install, especially if you have grommets installed. Recently I ordered a couple dozen bill boards for a contract job. As a reference I got a discount at $200/per less set-up of $50.00 and lead time was 2 weeks. Your price should be higher unless you get very lucky. I saw an original one advertised a few months ago for $200. Steve

        Now you're just showing off.

You bought a poster of the 2003 Corvette in 1978? Doc. Brown?

My fault, I meant 25th anniversary. Time flies but not that fast. I wasn't showing off, just bragging.

Mine were $11.50 each and from an ad in CN. I need to go back and check my old CN's for details. Steve

I bought one back in 78 and hung it up with tacks. I took it down when I moved and rolled it up, still in good shape. I sold it at a swap meet a couple of years ago for $100. The market for the new one may be $150 or so, its not a real high demand item. It took up a 30 foot long wall.

                    Re: 78 poster

Hey guys, sorry I've been gone for awhile. I still need to know the size of the poster when installed. Like I said, I have 40' walls. What I didn't say is that I have 14' tall ceilings. I'm sure it will fit in those dimensions but I would like to know the size so I can center it where I want it. I also have a 20'x40' room above.

                      Perry:
See Corvette News Vol 22 No. 5. The cover sheet shows pictures and indicates the size as 21 by 10 feet.
