63 Convertible Top Welt Binding

The 67 judging manual has very specific info with respect to the length of the binding downward from the seam where it terminates with the stainless steel spear-shaped tips.

The current 63 manual does not cover these specifics. Are the 63's & 67's the same ? I know the 63 spear does not have the flat narrow flange on its tips.

Also is the front welt fold under the same 63 vs 67?

Steve, I just went through a regional event and did not notice the judges taking a measuring tape and checking the length although I installed the top on my 63 there was a measurement on the instructions, I did have one very small issue the judges picked up on it involves the front sealing strip not being quite long enough to wrap under the corners of the front, Al Knoch strips are about a 1/2 in. to short on each end. the sealing strip should have the small dia. for 63 , also should have the front bow sitting in the middle of the sealing strip.

Thanks for the input. I had already ordered the additional charge "correct" front welt for my 63 and today just ordered (yet another $40) a corrected correct front welt 2" longer. That way my top guy has plenty of material to work with and can resew as needed.

Here are the pictures I took of the 1963 Z06 Convertible. This is the original top.

Notice the tucking of the windlace. Also, This is a tan top with a tan interior.

Anything showing the length of the rear welt before it terminates into the metal spear ? Any other pictures. Some of the resolution is poor.
