Is there a difference in a 63 corvette power brake master cylinder, than a non corvette one, like the impala. This lid also has the larger lettering on top, as the original corvette are small. Need a little help. Thanks.

Gary, the 63 Corvette master cylinder is a 7/8" bore some of the other pass car 63 master cylinders are 1" bore, they work on different pressures because of this. Don't use these on a corvette. This master cylinder has the 7/8 on top front. It has the larger 1/4 letters for the lid. Maybe the cylinder is original and the top a reproductionComment

What is on the bottom, should be a casting number, mold number and a date.

Gary, To add to Harrys post check to make sure the line to master cylinder is on the same side(facing wheel well). its possible its a corvette master what your looking at and not a pass. car.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.Comment

number on bottom 5462389 under that R1 and date is C-25-3 also the brake line is on the driver side.Comment

Gary, from what you indicated it looks like a real one. Look at the date closer, it's probably C 26 3 as I do not believe they made a batch on C 25 3.
