1967 TI clip under hood latch

One of the clue some of you told me to look for when I bought this car last year ( to prove it may have originally been an L71 car)
was the TI clip under the drivers side hood latch. Here is a picture of mine, it has obviously been there for a long time but, it is the only clip that is screwed to the firewall ( all the other ones are riveted )and it is the only one that has any rubber left on it , if in fact the other ones did at all, they don't now.

Answered my own question just found a pic that Richard Mozzetta sent to me last spring that shows the clip, mine is virtually identicle, but still leaves the question did all the wiring clips have a rubber coating on them?

I believe you'll find most all did.

Yup, all I've seen have a rubbery coating or remnants of it. That added one for K66 under the DS female latch with the unique recessed hex head screw. And usually it is NOT placed exactly as specified in the AIM dimensional drawing of it's installation. That tells me it's pretty "typical" of production. I have another '67 with TI here, and it's way off the original dimension spec. Makes me extra happy.

Just saw this thread and out of curiosity took a look at the TI J clip and mounting location for my 1967 L79 with a September 66 build date. Looks like the same J clip mounted in the same general location as in Douglas Lee's photo. The screw head looks the same but appears to me to be a little smaller in size.
