    Correct Jacks for 69

    Okay restoring my base model E69(trim tag C04), the donor E69 (trim tag D05). I have 2 complete jacks My car has an 8H with a small base. The donor has a K8 large base. The TIM/JG indicates " 68 and early 69 had small base jacks. Later 69 went to a larger base. Question: Which one do I keep for MY car and are either acceptable for NCRS judging. Confused
    Thank You
    Roger

    Roger,
    I have an October '68 base car like yours and I have the original jack. Tomorrow when I am in the shop I will take measurements and a couple of photos for you.

      Roger,
      Attached are some photos of my original jack as promised. The dimensions are:
      Base= 9" long x 5" at the wide point and x 3 5/16" at the narrow point
      movable top piece= 5 1/2" long x 2" wide.
      I hope this helps.

        Why do the dates on the jack not indicate which is best for your car? I think the dates speak louder than anything in the TIM&JG.

          Jeff-------

          This jack is a GM #3958710 and is exactly the same one as supplied on my late 1969. As far as I know, this jack was used on all 1969 Corvettes. I suppose it's possible that some VERY early 1969's got the somewhat smaller 1968 jack. Not to my knowledge, though.
