Re: 67 435 engine pad
I think this car sold in 2006 at Scottsdale for around $165K. Somebody is looking for a healthy/big gain in an eight year span that has seen a fall, a rise and a leveling in values. Probably worth what he paid plus some but 100% to 200% gain, I doubt it.- Top

I'd much rather look at a gorgeous 67 435 car that's absolutely real vs. any painting on a wall

IMO, if you can't drive it around and enjoy it, I agree with Gene, may as well be a Picasso, monetary value but no visceral value.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: 67 435 engine pad
Either way, it is still interesting to see which way the market goes. On one hand you have this one on E-bay with his ridiculous # & then you hear #'s in the 190---230 range. Obviously still alot of $$ but that is what the market will currently "BEAR". With the 50th anniversary of the 67's coming up ,I would think we'd see a rise as we did with the 63's.
Here's a good question. Is anyone currently doing a tally of how many REAL L-71's are still out there that survived ? Much like Jim Gessner is doing with the 65 Fuelies.- Top

I don't know of anyone who has the guts to undertake that hot potato.

Re: 67 435 engine pad
I don't think the number on the ebay car is ridiculous IF the tags, motor, paperwork etc is authentic and properly restored. I would love to find another red or black 435 convertible with factory pipes, paperwork, beautifully restored with real parts etc, the whole nine yards for 190/230.Either way, it is still interesting to see which way the market goes. Re: 67 435 engine pad
Good point I suppose. We obviously ALL KNOW that there are 9000 L-71's out there for sale today, but this may be something worth looking in to in the future ; when I have ALOT MORE TIME ON MY HANDS !! And that ain't happening right now----LOL- Top

Re: 67 435 engine pad
Steve, at this point I would not assume anything other than - the engine block appears to be real!!! In 2006 B-J had no significant access to NCRS or the expertise that they have on their staff today.. At this point we have seen a good picture of a pad nothing more, the tags are not high enough resolution or the proper angle to confirm anything, assuming the exhaust is real because the block might be is a giant leap in faith.- Top

Re: 67 435 engine pad
Roy, I agree 100% I was using the assumption that IF a car was available like the one on ebay and all was good with real paperwork that it would be worth that kind of money. Also assuming the car would be properly restored with real parts.Steve, at this point I would not assume anything other than - the engine block appears to be real!!! Re: 67 435 engine pad
I can't speak to the issue of remaining 435 cars, but I have a list of 19 of the 21 1967 L-88 cars by VIN. 20 production cars and one prototype.
And while I am thinking about it, one car that seems to have disappeared is a Green coupe that was for sale by Andy Affrica is the 1970s. Don't have the VIN of that one yet. Anyone know anything about this car.
I am NOT counting the "Lost L-88 Big Tank" car. Too many questions about that car.- Top
