Robbin, they're good people (I've purchased a few small items from him), but I have to tell you, they're not known for their rock bottom prices!!! He has a lot of good stuff and hard to find, but boy, I just hate having to take out a second mortgage or sell one of the kids to buy what he has. But then again, most Corvette (original) parts suppliers aren't known for low prices either!

Robin ,I am in the process of building the L71 for my 67 right now and many of the parts needed were available at Cranes, and like you I was a little apprehensive , having never dealt with him, but I ordered one of the reproduction manifolds , harmonic balancer and valve covers, and they were shipped out right away, well packaged, and were excellent quality pieces. I am just about to order the rest of the stuff, : dated carburators , fuel pump, starter , exhaust manifolds , and a few other small things. If you search the archives, and the Corvette forum, you will find some negative comments about David, but I think all in all he is a good guy to deal with.

I have ordered several hard to find, expensive parts from them over the last several years. The descriptions and representations of the items was very accurate and honest. Their prices are astronomical, as you know, but not many choices out there.

I swapped Dave Crane 3 carbs (wrong dates) for 3 correctly dated carbs a while ago. Everything was great and Dave is good to deal with. Only negative I had was the carbs were more cosmetically rebuilt than mechanically and I had to change a metering plate and had 2 warped bowls.

I looking for a complete Tri-power intake system for 1969 427, and I found what I am looking for at Crane Corvette supplies, appears he has a complete system, Has anyone done business with them? I’m about to spend a significant amount of money and wanted to know if there are any red flags I should be aware of. also, would anyone have a lead where I can get a complete intake system? Thanks.... Robin

David is quite a character but he's basically OK. He can sometimes be a little slow to get things shipped out but it eventually happens.

The thing I could never figure out is where he finds all this fairly rare stuff he sells.
