I did a search but still have questions. I know my frame part number is the first line of the stencil but the second line is the AO Smith part number and production sequence. What do I need to figure out these two numbers? Can anyone give an example of a mid 64 build date?

Re: 1964 frame stencil
Well, I'm feeling a little foolish. The AO Smith part number is in the same paragraph of the JM. The production sequence I see is either 10, 11, or 12. It is not clear if the sequence number is referenced anywhere else or if I can pick any of the three?- Top

Re: 1964 frame stencil
I received my stencil from LI so tomorrow I will apply part number and build sequence to my painted frame. I researched the pull date stencil for a build date of May 11, 1964 (Monday) to be a couple work days prior so I will add the stencil 2-5-7 toward the front of the passenger side. Please confirm a few things for me before I go ahead. I was planning to use some random white paint rather than order buy special ink. Not that I want to do a shoddy job on my restoration, but seems a reasonable substitution. I hope to see some reply - so far this thread is like talking to myself. I do enough of that on my daily commute. haha..- Top

Re: 1964 frame stencil
I guess everyone thinks you are stumbling along just fine without any help all. By hook or by crook, you are getting it done.
One thing regarding pull date; I don't know what you mean by stencil 2-5-7.
would your pull date be something like 5/10/64 or 5-10-64 and be hand scrawled in large crayon marker?
You are correct as to up near front of pass side frame rail.
OK Greg
you have more specific info than I have uncovered. Have at it.- Top

Re: 1964 frame stencil
Thanks Don, I picked 2-5-7 which is two production days prior to Monday the 11th (5-7). I am getting the stencil history from this thread which indicates at this time in 1964 they were stenciling and not handwriting. The prefix 2- is reported to be either a 1, 2 or 3 : https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...=frame+stencil- Top
