    67 Speed Minder

    HI:

Just sourced a very original 67 350HP coupe for a friend and upon further inspection (dropping the tank) found that it is a speed minder car per the tank sheet (N15 of course) but the speedometer has clearly been replaced.

The question is: are there any shops or services "restoring" the clusters "INCLUDING" sourcing the parts for the speed minder?

=====appreciate any definitive help you can provide ====

    Regards
    Bill

Bill, I don't think any reproduction parts are available for that option. You may need to find used. If you do, you'll have to get the special
speedometer case and mechanism and face, along with the wiring and buzzer.

If getting judged you'll need the Green LE label for the back of the cluster also. This signifies the cluster assembly with the N15 option on base and 'non' Special High Performance engines.

      Richard,
Is it just the lighting in your cluster photo or is the lens on the fuel gauge installed in the convex position? I understood that with speedminder that speedo and tach have their lens installed in a convex position, but the rest of the lens are in the 'normal' concave position.

Just went out and checked my '67
        - installed Normal / Concave (don't think my dash has been apart - owned car since '74)

Thanks Rich --- I am assuming here that all or part of the dash unit was replaced but will have to see once it has been pulled out a bit --- as I mentioned the tank sticker clearly shows the option but the parts are not to be found --- too bad -- it was a pleasant surprise but may be a bit of a chore to get it back to its original state--

          Regards

            Bill,
Try Brian. He has a business and does clusters here in Palm springs. He was very helpful. (760) 568-6450.

Jim, The '67 JG says ....."convex" but I think it's a typo. The way it's worded is speculative of that.

See the 2nd sentence under "Instrument Lenses"

Both lenses were concave installations when this cluster came to me.
As you can see, if the plastic lens was convex, the set knob for the speedminder would not fit.
