    Re: mecum auction

Mecum is getting just like Barrett/Jackson, people with too much money, time and alcohol in front of a tv camera and prices go through the roof. LOL Very entertaining sometimes though!

There was one 67 big block that went through with "matching numbers". It had a 321 block and the serial number was stamped on the pad one digit at a time with no date code but serial number that took up over half the pad. I think a telephone bidder bought the car. If they didn't have it checked out by someone, they are in for a big surprise!!

          Hi Enzo

I did not take a picture of it. As I recall, it was a 400 air car. There certainly was no effort to make it appear original. There was no date code on the pad and the number starting with Sxxxxxx looked single digit stamped and were nearly 3 times the size of a factory stamp. The block was not painted on the rear but with a flashlight it was a 321 block. Just frustrating to see it stated as matching numbers. Well, at least the number on the pad matched the car. I hope the buyer was aware of what they were getting. Everyone has a different view of what that term means. I guess it is buyer beware
