    Corvette at the Lorraine Motel 4/04/68
    Anyone catch the footage on MLK Jr. assassination last night on the Smithsonian channel? I noticed a 67 Big Block Corvette parked in front of the hotel at the moment of the shot. Does anyone know who owned or the whereabouts of this car? It was blue with a white convertible top.

      Would be neat to know where the car is. I believe its a 65 or 66...could be wrong but I thought it had spinner hubcaps? Its at 19.42 in the video. Definitely was at an important piece of history. Scott Wildasin

          Also looks like it has a raised scooped hood - the type with the chrome grill work on the sides of the scoop - I believe these were standard with early 396 big blocks.

              Yeah...i thought so too but my screen was so small i couldn't tell for sure. I missed the car the first time I watched the video so I had to watch it again . Figured I'd add where it was in the video so everyone else didn't miss it. Good eyes to the original poster. Scott

                  The year isn't as important as the who's and where's of it. Each time I paused the video it became somewhat blurry. The car appeared in just this clip and not in any still photos that I have seen. Like it was moved just after the terrible incident occurred? There are several other cars seen in both the video and stills, two that became a part of the museum (Caddy and Dodge?). I agree it is an important object and so far surprised no one has stepped up with a clue? Surely, someone seen this before?

                      Agreed. .just may help identify who's it is? I'm sure someone has the ability ti enhance the paused photo. I was thinking there was a front license plate .i tried to zoom in but it became to blurry. Thanks for the info on the other cars..i didn't realize that. And thanks for sharing the clip..it was very interesting. Scott
