Looks like a steering column/mast jacket support. Note joggle-bracket with hole for accomodating trim odometer cable reset button end.

Don't remember seeing a part like this on the 67 BB Auto with AC.

Jeff the trip odometer reset cable gets mounted to the pedal support bracket in 67

That`s what it is, but earlier, not `67.

Just looked at my May 67 and I have the exact same bracket that supports the trip odometer cable & knob.

OK guys,
My bracket is hanging from the cable all painted and the cable lubed! Where does it mount? Came off this 67 but the bracket does not look like it will mount to the column without wire damage. The bracket seems to have the same radius as the column. SAT for hours looking in the AIM & ALL the other manuals, nothing! Found a picture in the owners manual that shows it on the lower left of the column. Mounted to the column with a clamp, it would ruin the wire protector. HELP.

Along with a "U" bolt rwo nuts and lock washers the bracket clamps around the steering column and then attaches to the bracket just forward of the instrument cluster. This part can be found on any 63-66 SB or BB has nothing to do with it. The 67 column has a bracket that is attached to the column and then bolted to the bracket just forward of the instrument cluster.

Joe,
It just doesn't fit any where near my column. The owners manual shows it just to the right of the column. There is the right size hole just to the left of the column. I must be nuts because the bracket came off this car. It can't bolt on to my column outside the cluster or the plastic cover on my tele will hit it.
Why is it not in the AIM, or did I miss it someplace?

Not in the AIM cause it was not there on 67.

Go to page F210 in the 66 AIM. That part is pictured there.
Than go to page G216 in the 67 AIM. That will show the difference in the two columns.

I'm sure the odometer cable was on the 67 when I bought it in 71. Where it mounts so it can be reset is what I am looking for in the aim.
Also when I did my restoration I secured that bracket on the cable just as I removed it so I would know what it was for?

Well by now I have figured out that the peace is not for a 67, must be why it was in the glove box, quick aren't I.

That piece was on my 67. The end of the trip set cable and knob were screwed to it!! I have now spent over 5 hrs looking for it in the books. I tried G 216 in the AIM and it was not there. I am going to do a new post. the only pic was in the owners manual and it did not describe it.

I'm on my fifth 67, and have never seen one under the dash, one was factory AC, I have never had a telescoping one though.
