1966 #2 frame chassis to body mounts missing??

Just pulled the body off the frame on a '66. The frame #2 body mounting provisions are missing from both LH and RH sides of the frame (see pictures). They have not been bent, shorn or cut off, but just missing. There is no residual mark that would indicate the provisions were ever there. The frame serial #s match the body VIN, the frame is weathered, and has no repairs between the #1 mount (shown in the pics) and the VIN stamp aft of the drivers door. So it's the original frame that came with the body.

Anyone know about something like this? is this common? For a restoration, should I add these back on?

    Richard,

If it's a coupe the mount is not used, it's used on the convertible. In 1963 both models used the #2 mount.

      Richard -

The #2 mount bracket was welded to the top of the frame side rail at St. Louis, ONLY ON CONVERTIBLES; that mount wasn't used on coupes.
