    Pete,
    yes the judging manual does say the lift bracket is mounted to the rear of the passenger side head on the big block.

      Peter, Your friends silver 30,000 mile very original car (automatic SB) doesn't have a rear lift bracket either.

      Not sure I agreed with that info ..automatics didn't have one in the rear. I don't get a lot of judging time on the passenger side as I do 90% on the driver's side, but I think the only difference is the location of the one bolt bracket...bellhousing for SB and head for BB.

      Maybe Lyle may want to chime in here as that is his side of the engine bay.
