'66 - Dum dum on ballast resistor

I am told that there should be "dum dum" on the ballast resistor.

I could not find info in AIM or TGJM.

Any explanation or photos of where it should be located & applied would be helpful.
    Thanks, Dan

Dum Dum on a potentially hot ballst resistor? Doesn't sound too correct to me.

Randomly there was sealant applied to the screw that holds on the BR, same as the heater plenum sealant on the firewall. To try to cure water leaks etc.

Dan is absolutely correct as I have seen a wad of dum dum applied to the screw on the back of the resistor where the screw enters the firewall. Just to clarify it was applied to either the screw or the firewall to prevent leaks. It certainly was not on the ballast resistor!

I'll buy that. Makes good sense. Guess I'll go seal mine before I go through the car wash next time. Got lots of black cord to use up.
