Looking for information on changing my a/c hoses. Where to purchase the most original, of course, and to buy them with the fittings already installed or to just buy the hoses and use my original fittings? Are installing my fittings a difficult procedure with special cripers of some sort? thanks for some expert a/c help. Dutch

Not certain what you are asking?? What are you trying to show me??
Larry
EDIT: Go to LICS Section 35-16B for pictures of typical AC hoses. This is just one example……….there were a few different hose suppliers to GM at this time- Top

Re: 1966 a/c freon hose change
I was trying to see if you could tell if anything looked original with my clamps and hoses. The lettering on the hoses are very light to see. Maybe I can get some better shots tomorrow. Thanks for the communication. Dutch- Top

Re: 1966 a/c freon hose change
Harry:
Your C2 AC hose can have three (3) different manufacturer logo's: These are
1. GY = Goodyear Rubber Company
2. EHR = Electric Hose and Rubber Company
3. RRD = Republic Rubber Division
Look to see if you can find any of these logos. The GY logo hose also should have a date code.
Anything else is a replacement.

Re: 1966 a/c freon hose change
Larry I can find yellow GY at places on my freon hoses, but the lettering is very faint. Actually the hoses look good on the outside, very smooth with no cracks, but who knows about the inside? I have Murray clamps with the Fittings. Is it a big deal to replace the 66 hoses with the clamp-type fittings? thanks, Dutch- Top

It is not a big job to do this, although you will lose the refrigerant, some oil, and probably should also replace the receiver/drier at this same time.
Harry S has some excellent pics of original 1963 AC hoses from Goodyear. LICS has pics of EHR and RRD hoses.
If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.
Larry
PS: As a midyear judge, I would probably be happier seeing a car with slightly worn original hoses rather than new reproduction hoses. The big question is why do you feel a need to replace.- Top
