History of previous Duntov award winners

I recently purchased a 66 coupe that was a Duntov award recipient back in 1992. I'm trying to trace some of the car's history but not having much luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tom,
Have you purchased old Restorers from that time for meet results with owner's names? Do you know the name of the owner then? It's pretty hard for us to help you when you don't indicate anything more than body style and year.

I know of that service but was hoping there was another option, I hate to spend the $300 and have nothing turn up. It's ironic the owner back in 1992 was Harold Johnson from Fenton, MI. who won the award. I have the letter and plaque along with some paperwork but was hoping for more details like the odometer reading....etc.

I know of that service but was hoping there was another option, I hate to spend the $300 and have nothing turn up. NCRS does not have that detail on file. The original judging sheets that indicate such info are given to the owner, no copies are made or kept.

Tom, I have spoken to Marie Johnson who is the wife of Harold, deceased. She remembers the car well,has photos of the Duntov process in 1992. She even has the pin.Harold was the 2nd owner of the car. I ditto what Roy has indicated. Bill has been great for me on two cars. Not perfect but did fill in some ownership gaps. I recommend him.

Roy and Jaime are correct. Bill has worked his magic for several cars I have been involved in. The next purchase I make, Bill will be the first person I contact for history research.
