1966 tele steering

Need to replace turn signal switch on a telescoping steering column. Can any one tell me if the black sleeve that the wires run thru actually moves in and out when the steering wheel is telescoped in and out? Right now when the wheel is completely pulled out the 7 wire loom is totally exposed, that doesn't same aesthetically correct.

Yes, the plastic sleeve moves in and out.
