    1958 exhaust in Rear Bumper

Can someone guide me how far the exhaust tips should OR should not extend out of the rear chrome bumper on a 1958. I have looked everywhere and can not find any details on this top. Thanks.

    Eric,

The normal distance is even with the bumper opening or 1/4 inch past the bumper opening. I made removable pieces of exhaust pipe to get the water away from the bumpers which I take off for judging. Hope this helps.

1/8 to 1/4 inch outside of bumpers prevents bumper corrosion and judges accept placement, too far out and you will be bleeding when your knee hits the sharp exhaust pipe!
