Hello everyone, new member here and just wanted to introduce my self. My name is Doug and I own a 68 L-36 convertible, its a fairly original car that has had a few questionable modifications done to it over the years that I'm working on fixing now. Been on the CF for awhile and decided that it was time to finally join NCRS. Hope to have the car judged in the future and am excited to have access to all the knowledge on the forums. Anyhow, I'll be talking to everyone soon and here's a few pics of my car.IMG_1811.JPGIMG_1960.JPG

Re: New member intro
Welcome Douglas! That is a beautiful car in a great color combination! Have you joined a local chapter? If not, please make an effort to do so and get started with observer judging at the chapter level to get a feel for the process. If you have not already, get the latest technical judging manual for your car as well as the latest judging reference manual. With these two books, you will come to understand the various avenues of award recognition available and which best suits you and your car. The real value in the NCRS is the people you will meet and the knowledge they have to share. I hope it will be as enjoyable for you as it has been for me. Chip.- Top

Re: New member intro
Hi Douglas,
I'll say welcome too and add that we're glad you decided to join!
I'll also agree with Paul that you should seriously consider joining a Chapter.
Also, with the National Convention being in Denver (relatively close to you) in July you might want to think about attending for a couple of days to see what that's all about.
Your car looks like an absolute beauty in the pictures.
I'm pleased you're here!

Re: New member intro
Welcome Douglas,
As I relatively new member myself (1year this June), let me say that you will learn so much from the forum as mentioned above. I have received much help and guidance from all these knowledgeable members while restoring my 73. As Alan suggests you should join your local chapter. I joined my Pittsburgh Chapter and just recently had the opportunity to OJ/Judge at our chapter meet last Saturday. My car was not ready for this year, but will be for next year. I learned so much from working along side two very experienced judges, and had a blast doing it.Plus you will get to see some beautiful cars. You will meet so many friendly people who share your passion for the corvette.

Re: New member intro
Thanks for all the welcoming posts everyone. Thanks for the tip about joining the local chapter, will do for sure! I think there is a local judged meet late this year very close to where I live so I hope the car will be ready for that and will start doing some activities with the local chapter between now and then, should learn alot. One quick question, do people typically bring their cars to local NCRS meetings?- Top
