    Rivet Set Tool

I'm restoring my battery access panel. I have the kit with the 6 threaded inserts and the 12 solid flat head aluminum rivets. The rivets are 5/16 long (.3125) and 3/32 in diameter.

I have the bucking bar but I need a smaller river-set. I'm doing this by hand.

I've searched several places for a rivet-set for the 3/32 in diameter rivet without any luck. Any leads would be helpful or if anyone has one that I could borrow that would be great.

    Thanks

    Harry,
Google up Aircraft Spruce. They have them for under 10 bucks. I would give them a call because it's easy to get the wrong one. Also ther are less expensive ones, and expensive ones. The cheaper work great and I can't tell the difference. There are also different rivet heads to choose from. Flat, round, and one that is less round, (oval).

I planned to just make one out of a piece of 6 inch long round stock when the time came for me to do this job. Probably 3/8 inch diameter round stock. Drill a small dimple/recess in one end to help form the rivet end.

There are various "small rivet install kits" available from a few Corvette vendors, but the contacts DOM and Joe Ray provided should also, work well.

Or you could surf eBay for a deal... Just search "rivet set" Usually you can buy a lot of several used for the same money. Here are some new ones with the 3/32 universal head included.
