Thanks, Philip.... But, the part I'm questioning I guess should be called the "shift pattern plate" . I do see an old thread ( 2013) on the subject indicating that the repros are all different from originals. I wonder if there's been any improvements since then?

        Ralph,

I was going to reply by saying no to the improvement question . I ordered several and remembered them all being nowhere close . I thought I was going to tell you that I redid my original . I was wrong .

I went to get some pics of the reproduction ones , and found my original along with them . Then looked at my console and noticed that I had in fact replaced it with a new one . It is not perfect , but it is close .

See all the pictures attached. The one in the center is the one I chose, the two on either side are the first two repros I got , or at least the last two , I am sure I have a few more lying around somewhere . The bottom is my original , and you can see why I needed a new one !. (it wasn't as bad as it looks now , that was after me trying to sand out all the scratches , then giving up )

Now that means that someone got close. The bad news is I don't remember who . But a least there is hope .

        Jim

Ps. You are welcome to either or both of the two new ones.
