Should a 1970 LS5 have a solenoid wire clip? I'm trying to determine if my car shouldn't have a clip, or if it's just missing:
- Page 98 of the TIM&JC says "A grey (misspelled "gray" in the manual) phosphate-plated spring clip encircles the solenoid and holds the wires to the solenoid..." In context, this implies all engines should have a clip, but doesn't say specifically.
- AIM page 12-A11 in the Electrical section shows clip PN 3856490 on a small block. But page LS5-A5 in the big block section doesn't show a clip on the solenoid.
- Paragon says this PN is for 66-67 w/427 and all 68-82: https://www.paragoncorvette.com/p-35...wire-clip.aspx
If the LS5 should have a solenoid clip, which wires go through it? AIM page 12-A11 shows a small block with only the battery cable in the clip. What about the other solenoid wires?
