    Eddie, Mark,
You need to start with some known good base. No, don't replace the rev limiter, get rid of the whole thing. This is an unknown variable. Use regular set of points and all good ignition parts. Then if everything is good there the fuel system is next. Gotta be methodical and work thru it.

If the engine "breaks up" (ie: misfires) beyond 4500 RPM then you have an ignition problem. If it bogs and wants to cut out then it's a fuel starvation issue.

Sounds like a fuel issue to me. Your Holley 2818 carb should have 64 pri and 74 sec main jets, with a 6.5 power enrichment valve. After confirming this, first thing I would do is install a new fuel filter. Next, set your float levels. Next, check the vent in your gas cap and check the fuel sock in the tank. Finally, check the fuel pump. If the pump was rebuilt in the past and the poppet valves were not staked, then they can dislodge. If one dislodges this can cause the pump to deliver enough fuel for low RPM operation, with fuel starvation at higher engine speeds.

What part of NJ do you live in?

I'm in Jersey City.Thank You for your reply.I have to apologize to the the people that sent replies. For some reason after I write to them and go to send,I get a website not responding notice sometimes.I write again same thing.Hope this goes through.
First thing I have to tell you,and forgot to mention is the carb is a Holley Double Pumper.I made no modifications, everything was there when I bought her.I'm just starting to use her,and learning things.I also found a switch on the side of the trans tunnel. If you don't turn it on the car won't start.Once it's running you can turn it off,and car will run,but when you shut down you have to turn on switch again to start.
God knows what else I'll find. The fuel pump is mechanical...I agree it sounds like fuel starvation.I bought a fuel filter they sent me wrong one.and ordering a fuel pump.I see they have a special fuel pump for 327/365.I guess I'll order a Fuel Cap also.I only noticed the 4500rpm problem recently.I drove her gently before to check everything was OK.Now it's time to see what she can do...
I'll check the things you mentioned, and Thank You
