    70-72 4-way flash knob Survey

The 70 to 72 Corvette TIM&JG has conflicting information on the 4-way flasher knob. We know today that information is not entirely correct.

If you have a known original 4-way flasher knob, please post the following information please:
    - Color (chrome, black, etc.)
    - Style (short, long, screw through center)
    - Material (plastic, pot metal, ?)
    - Std. column or a tilt column.
    - Car build date.
    - Picture?

We are particularly interested in 71 and early 72 cars with tilt columns.

    Thanks for your help.

Re: 70-72 4-way flash knob Survey

      - Color- Chrome
      - Style- No screw; I think short but not positive about the distinction
      - Material- Some sort of metal
      - Tilt
      - June 22, 1970

I've only owned it since 1990 so can't guarantee it's original.

        Hi Gary,
Here's the knob from 71-#6589, with a standard column.
From the weight of it I'm thinking it's certainly metal, not chrome plated plastic.
        Regards,
        Alan

My early June 72 has a very faded plastic button with the screw in the middle. It is now gray, I suspect it started out black.

Mine looks like Don's. Our production dates are two weeks apart on our '71s. I am second owner and have owned it since it was 8 months old so I am sure it is original.

My August 23, 1971-built (model year 1972) convertible has a tilt/tele column and has the black/white plastic knob, just like what's shown in Dan DiCio's photo. I can post a photo of it if wanted.

I am not the original owner and my car is a body off restoration, so I cannot be 100% certain that the knob on my column is original to the car. FWIW, it passed national level flight judging without deduction or comment.

My April 19,1972 build, tilt and tele, has a short black plastic just under a 1/2 inch in length.
