I suggest you buy a Speed Pro (Federal Mogul) CS165R. I recall that the L-71 cam listed in the Crane Catalog is really a L-88 camshaft.

The CS165R is not just "close". It is an exact OE replacement manufactured to the GM print. You can buy it from NAPA or any other source that sells Federal Mogul parts.

P.S. I checked the Crane Web site and the specs for the 969961 do match the OE L-71 cam, so it looks like they corrected the problem. Crane is the only cam manufacturer I recommend other than F-M or Dana Corp. Crane manufactured the small block cams I designed and the quality appeared to be OE equivalent including Parkerized lobes, which aid break-in, so buy on price and convenience.
