Seat Belt Guides - Correct Finish?

Another question as I continue complete '72 coupe restore ..

I found an earlier post on this but wasn't much info. The seat belt guides in my coupe look like they were spray painted a flat black on the top half but when removed it looks likethe bottom half were flash chromed or zinc. GM part number is 3996874.

Can anyone confirm the surface finish that was supposed to be on these?

I'm pretty sure those guides were parkerized or just zinc/cad plated.
they are hidden under the carpet and the plastic cover (for the retractor under the seat).

Thanks Bill. Wasn't sure whether to just try to clean mine up or buy new ones. If they were chrome plated then it would be cheaper to buy new ones.

        Do these help?

They appear black painted to me, assuming we are discussing the same guides.
