1958 283/245 Manifold to Head painted or not?

The area on the cylinder heads that is NOT covered by the intake..... Is it left natural, painted silver with some over spray on the intake or painted orange with over spray on the intake. Have been told each of these is correct......... Preparing car for judging, which way do I go??

The area was covered by a mask. No paint. I have seen manifold that have had a trace of chevy orange on the front and back of the intake that was not covered during the painting process.
