    Another Car Cover Question

    Folks,

Can anyone recommend an indoor car cover that is machine washable? (I know it would require a commercial size laundromat washer and then probably air dry to keep it from shrinking). I've looked online and have only found one that states machine washable but it was over $400 and I'd rather not pay that much for a cover.

On a related note, as part of complete restore, the body of my '72 coupe should be coming back from the painter before long. In general, how long do I need to wait before I put a car cover on it?

    Thanks,

    Roger

I have a wolf car cover that can be washed . Make sure your car cover is breathable . I would not put a cover on for at least 60 days .

        Re: Another Car Cover Question

Most car covers I've seen/bought are either cotton, poly-cotton blend, some form of Kimberly Clark's polypropylene fabric. Different brands will use multiple layers or maybe add a flannel liner. I believe all of them say they can be washed.

I bought my last cover from California Car Covers. Good customer service (I had to return a poor fitting cover) but learned they are a retailer and don't make covers. You may want to research the manufacturers; you can buy from most of them directly. Also, the manufacturers merely tailor the fabric using their patterns (some patterns are better than others); the fabrics they use are mostly from the same sources.
