C3 Aux. Hardtop Glass LOF #'s

I have what I believe to be the orig h/t from my 71.
Numbers on LOF glass are AS2 XX which according to the book would be Feb 1968.
Is is possible/probable that presuming low production of hardtops that an original top
factory supplied for a 1971 would have 1968 dated glass?
Also, the numbers on the bottom are M5Z What does this number represent?
    Thanks.

Not a chance. Snowball in Hades that it would have been there 3 years.

      Are you sure, Mike? :-)
Also, on the back inside under the window there is a number: 18466
Would that be a part number?

I am pretty sure AS 2 refers to the type of glass used in the window. Look at your windshield and side glass for other AS x codes.

Indeed, the Spec Book Pg 147 says AS2 is "for side door/vent and coupe rear glass".
Didn't mention hardtop rear glass but I'm presuming it's included.
Any idea what "M5Z" represents? That's the last line on the glass enscription.
Also, would you think 18466 printed on the rear bottom inside of the top might be
          a part number?

            Hi Norman,
I found this information while searching a while back:
The M number is a model number for the piece of glass, which identifies the type of construction. The M number is unique to the manufacturer, so one an M number of M312 by one manufacturer could be different than glass labeled as M312 by another manufacturer. It identifies the glass construction, including the color and thickness. An M number may be used by multiple part numbers.
Here's the M number from my 71 windshield.
            Regards,
            Alan

My hardtop lacks any DOT mark, looks like this:
              SAFETY LOF PLATE
              AS2 Solid Tempered XX
              M5Z (maybe a 2 but sure looks like a Z)

What color is the headliner? A 68 color, a 71? Does it have the stainless tips on each point in the rear?

Norman, I have two hypothesis.....you have a 1968 hardtop, or your original top had a replaced rear window, which upon inspection you could tell....you definitely have a Feb 68 LOF properly logo'd window, m52 construction and Safety plate are identifiers.
