Finally got most of my electrial gremlins sorted out with the wiring thanks to Lectric Limited. Now we are ready to start the car for the first time in three years. The problem is that the car cranks nicely but there is no spark? Does anyone have a list of items to check for as Chilton is not very helpful.

Check that the points are opening, wire from dist. to coil hooked up and on the negative terminal, coil good?, check to be sure distributor to coil s. plug wire is good, and check to be sure the harness wires from the starter to positive side of the coil have continuity.- Top

Re: Root Causes to check for my 1972 Corvette with no Spark!!!
In these cases, I start at the spark plug boot and work upstream.
Spark @ spark plug boot? If no spark at any cylinder, then-
Spark @ coil high tension cable? If yes, then check rotor and cap. If no, then-
Primary voltage at both ends of wire from coil neg terminal to points? If yes, then check points, condenser, coil. If no, then-
Primary voltage at coil pos terminal? If yes, then check coil and its primary wiring to dist. If no, then
Check ign switch and its wiring.Mark Edmondson

Ok, here is the final update on this issue. Ran all the checks you recommended and found the coil to be defective, so i purchased the GM restoration parts coil and the car started right up. thanks for your help.- Top
