    1958 generator mount

Does the 58 have a four hole flat bracket mounted to the manifold or does the U bracket bolt directly to the manifold? The car is fuel injected. This is a very early car with right side hood support

The U bracket should bolt directly to the manifold, there is a heat shield for it. Be careful the fan belt clears the bottom radiator hose. Chevrolet used a mickey mouse fix, they pulled the Lower radiator hose back against the fuel line with a radiator clamp for fan belt clearance. Very early 58s had the RH motor mount ball peened for fan belt clearance, later 58s had a depression made in the mount.
