That was my first car! It suffered many egregious teenage modifications as I learned how to turn a wrench.
'65 and '66 remain my favorite looking Impalas, although the '69 SS (last year for that!) with hidden headlights also has beautiful lines (plus it has a three speed automatic which is nice).
If the car was local, I'd gladly look at it with you. Look for rust and repairs along the bottom of the rear window (especially if it has a vinyl top), the condition of the aluminum on the front valance (shouldn't be painted) and along the bottom of the trunk (these are hard to find or restore).Mark Edmondson
