on again off again starting

93 coupe that starts fine. drive for 20 minutes, turn off, turn back on will not start. Let set 20 minutes try again and it starts. replaced battery, cleaned battery ground, no help. does this only occasionally which is the worst possible time. Help.

Yes! And being a manual, when we try to push start it, it sputters and bucks like it is out of fuel but still no start.

That's your security system or "vats" acting up. Search the corvette forum or the internet you will see it's a common problem with C4's.

I replaced the ignition about a year ago and there is a new key that had to be "coded" to it. So is there another way to disable? Thanks for your help. I bought a bypass for my C5 steering column lock issue and that did the trick. Hoping something that simple with this issue.
