Hello, is it possible to remove the fuel/temp pod with out removing the entire cluster? Hopefully some one has done this and can tell me the procedure they used. Thanks for any help. Wayne

I removed the amp gauge pod and replaced it with a volt meter and 80lb oil pressure gauge( looks original) without taking the whole dash out. It's been a few years but it was just a matter of getting under there, (take the seat out to give you room to crawl in) disconnecting the wires, etc. Don't forget to disconnect the battery. The gauges come out the back. Feel free to e-mail me and we can talk on the phone.- Top

Re: 1962 fuel/temp pod removal
Terry, thanks for the reply. I have had the cluster out twice over the years, but both times the whole thing needed to come out. I was hoping to avoid that again. I will remove the hard top and the seat for easier access. Thanks again, Wayne- Top

Yes that pod can definitely be removed solo. Done it many times diagnosing DOA fuel gauges.
Just a little tricky gaining acces to the pal nuts and terminal nuts. I use a 1/4" drive wobble socket wrench and a short extension.
