Re: 1967 Radio dash tag
Hi Enzo:
My understanding is that early cars had a two sided tag -- one side mentioned tuning of the radio and the opposite side indicated adjustment of the antennae mast --- obviously, there is no adjustment possible on the 67 cars so -- later in the production cycle the tag was changed and became one sided --- I have a two sided tag on my 67 coupe with a 5205 vin number ...built in the first week of December 66 and it has the two sided tag --- not a repro by the way!! --- any way check page 30 of the judging guide for the particulars on the tag ---
It appears that the two sided tags were left overs from the 66 model year (my opinion only!!)--- those cars had a very slick electric antennae that could be raised an lowered --- I believe that when the two sided tags ran out they went to the single sided tag -- about some time in Jan or Feb of 67 --- per the judging manual --- others will chime in here with some more info but this is what I know / believe to be true ---
Hope this helps...
Regards

Re: 1967 Radio dash tag
The second style one sided tag was pale yellow. The 2 sided 66 style tag was a brighter yellow. If your one sided tag was bright yellow then it would have issues vs. the standard.- Top

Re: 1967 Radio dash tag
Enzo - seems you should have challenged the "call" but as Brian points out it is a zero to 1 point discussion.
Thats the point with this glovebox stuff. Even if the judge identifies one or all of the pieces as reproduction the point loss is virtually nothing. 68-72 cars have something like 15 total points for paper items but C1 and C2 cars have less. If you are chasing points original paper items are just not a good investment.- Top

Re: 1967 Radio dash tag
Stricky, I agree but there are some who have to be the only one at the show with an item. I admit I am one of these crazies. Example - original A212 air filter. I remember seeing Angelo's beautiful original Radio tag in his marina 67 roaster and it did have a "wow" factor to it. He was nice enough to let me take a picture of it. I'd buy one if I found one for one of my cars. Enzo is a great guy, and a "chaser". ...I like that about him....Hope you're good Stricks...Hope to see you soon....ARAEnzo - seems you should have challenged the "call" but as Brian points out it is a zero to 1 point discussion.

I am one like you as well. Anything for a judging point. Many people have that same obsession with details but I try not to push that on them. The majority of car owners cannot justify and/or afford this points at any cost approach. I certainally understand that. I'm glad you liked Angelo's tag.............hope being a new father is agreeing with you. Now that I'm a midyear guy we'll have to compare notes. !!!!!!!!!!!!!- Top

Dave, being a new father to a stunning daughter is agreeing with me. Love every moment. Daddy's little girl is an understatement. She's only 17 months old, but she had me wrapped at day one. Angelo's tag was nice. I liked the sleeve he had it in. I totally understand about the cost issue and judging points associated therewith. I find myself unable to say no unless it's a ridiculous price or item. Being a midyear guy now (welcome to the club) you will see what I mean.... We can compare notes anytime my friend....Beers are on Bill. LOL.....Best to you and all my buds up North. ARAAra,
